Back at the Bow Wow
Yesterday I got back to the dorms, and our dear room, which I fondly nicknamed Bow Wow. I came back really early even though we had no classes on Monday (a national holiday) because I wanted to study alone and in peace. Alas it was not to be so since Syria came back from France on Thursday or Friday and decided to come back even earlier to the dorms - also in hopes of silent study environment. Obviously it wasn't to be so. We studied till 19 and then got our hands on a bottle of Scotch that she brought back. And four cans of Pepsi. And some dry sausage along with jells. That's a mix, eh? Obviously, after two mugs of this drink for each of us and two movies watched ('Hangover' and 'She's the man' - nothing too demanding), at 10PM we were already pretty sloshed. But in the morning there was one difference - I didn't feel even slightly keen on puking while Syria did. A lot. (Sadly for her, she couldn't even make herself do it because we have communal bathrooms and puking when someone is in the cubicle next to you? Apparently not possible.) And let me tell you - that girl is no light weight.

Here's my secret.

I cheated. I'm an awful cheat while drinking. When drinking straight from the bottle I take small sips. When we've got shot glasses I still drink from the bottle to take small sips. I do not drink every third round of shots or so. I add vodka to my friends juice glasses (the one they drink with vodka) when they aren't looking. Generally, I try not to get drunk enough to vomit at some point in time.

This time I discretely took my mug (filled with scotch and Pepsi) with me into the outer room where I went to 'wash my hands' and poured part of it into the sink. Quite possibly I did it twice but my memory's a little hazy on that. Bottom line - no hangover and highly suspicious roommate. 'But why aren't you hangover?' It hurt me baby, to waste that delicious scotch, it really did, but I like my mornings better without the side dish of hangover.

I wouldn't call that cheating - I'd call that smart. If you don't want a hangover, don't drink enough to give yourself one. Although there's no harm in admitting to your roommate that you didn't want a hangover.

I really enjoyed this post. You write about this topic very well. There are many cherished moments in life, why not wear a beautiful dress! When looking back on special memories of your child wearing a gorgeous dress, it will make a fond memory.
